Durante la primera parte del año, en la clase de lengua y literatura, estuvimos viendo varios temas relacionados con el género. Estuvimos viendo la diferencia entre ambos a través de varias actividades, y luego realizamos un ensayo. En este, la pregunta disparadora que yo elegí fue: “Se puede considerar a la mujer como el sexo débil”. En esta entrada voy a compartir mi experiencia haciéndolo.
Para poder hacerlo seguí una serie de pasos. Primero decidí cuáles serían mis argumentos. Para esto estuve pensando un rato considerando la información que ya tenía y busqué más información en internet. Una vez que ya había decido los argumentos que me resultaron relevantes, busqué evidencia para respaldarlos. Entre esta había documentos, estadísticas, diarios, etc. Después de encontrar todo lo que necesitaba empecé a escribir. Desarrollé un argumento que afirmaba que la mujer era el sexo débil, y luego tres que se oponían a esta idea. Finalmente llegué a una conclusión en base a dichos argumentos y expliqué el motivo por el cual muchas veces la mujer es malinterpretada como el sexo débil. A continuación está el ensayo:
En clase tuvimos tiempo para realizar esta actividad, pero ya que tuve que hacer mucho trabajo para buscar argumentos y evidencia, este tiempo no me fue suficiente. Esto se debió en parte a que tenía mucho para hacer y en parte a que me suele costar un poco concentrarme en la clase. Tuve que hacer la mayoría del ensayo como tarea. Extrañamente, esta situación no me molestó tanto, ya que este tema me interesa mucho. Por lo tanto, un día me senté en mi escritorio, busqué toda la información restante y redacté el ensayo. Cuando terminé de escribirlo me sentía muy orgullosa de mi trabajo así que lo entregué.
En esta actividad aprendí varias cosas, además de los contenidos relacionados con el tema del ensayo. Aprendí a buscar información de varias fuentes de las que no estaba acostumbrada. Por ejemplo, de una declaración Estadounidense del año 1848, en la que las mujeres juraron luchar por sus derechos. Creo que en gran parte pude aprender tanto ya que el tema me resultaba interesante, así que me esforcé mucho más de lo que me esfuerzo para otras actividades. Mientras que habitualmente me limito a contestar la consigna, en este ensayo investigué más y le dediqué mayor energía y tiempo que a otros trabajos. Otra cosa que me ayudó a aprender más y esforzarme más, fue el hecho que la escritura era bastante libre. A partir de las preguntas disparadoras podíamos hacer lo que quisiéramos, lo que sentí que me daba más libertad al momento de escribir.
Mi mayor logro en esta experiencia fue lograr escribir un ensayo apoyando mi postura en un tema tan controversial y relevante como las diferencias entre el hombre y la mujer. Estoy orgullosa de haber podido abordar este tema con profundidad y evidencia. Lo único que probablemente haría distinto sería aprovechar un poco más el tiempo en clase.
